My
Parents
My parents were William and
Mildred Blomquist of Little Falls, New Jersey. My father
was from Nutley, New Jersey and my mother from Garfield,
New Jersey and they met while both working at the United
States Rubber Company factory in
Passaic.

Here are my
parents arriving at the church on their wedding day,
January 24, 1943. My mother is with her older sister Annie.
After the wedding they resided at my grandparent's home in
Garfield moving shortly thereafter to Charlotte, North
Carolina. There my father had been asked by U.S. Rubber to
work in a war factory producing artillery shells. When the
war ended, they returned to the Northeast to buy a house on
Bowertown Road in Little Falls, New Jersey and to start a
family.
My
sister Barbara was born in 1946, brother Bill in 1948 and I
in 1951.
My brother
Rob was born in 1961. The house on Browertown Road was
occupied by the Blomquist family for almost 30 years until
U.S. Rubber Co., now Uniroyal, shut down the factory in
Passaic. My parents and my younger brother retired to
Hartwell, Georgia.![]()

My father
passed away in 1984 and my mother in
2002.
